Fabric Landscape Decollage   (6 to 6-1/2 hour class plus lunch break, for all skill levels)

Create a beautiful landsape using fabric and fusibles, with no stitching! In this one-day class, you’ll complete an 11"x14" fabric landscape of your own design, ready to be framed. It will look like a painting – a “fabric painting”! No experience is necessary. Anyone can make these. With many chances to change your mind as your work evolves throughout the day, it’s easy and fun. These landscapes make wonderful gifts, since they can be designed in any style or color scheme. If you prefer, Debbie will show how to alter this technique, so your finished decollage can be quilted or stitched later, at home. Detailed handout included.  See more examples of this class on the Landscapes page.
Price for groups up to 22: $525 flat fee.
A supply list is given, or optionally, I can possibly provide everything except scissors for a materials fee of $20 per student.

Fabric Seascape Decollage   (3 to 4-hour class, for all skill levels)

Create a breathtaking underwater scene in fabric, using fusibles to make an 11”x14” fabric decollage that can be framed or stitched/quilted at home later, if you prefer. No templates or patterns are needed with these easy techniques. Learn how to use your rotary cutter to cut kelp in a free-form style – it’s easy! With their vibrant colors, the fish are “woven” through the kelp to give your seascape a 3-D look. They make great gifts, and it's a fun project to share with your kids and grandkids – they’ll love making “fishy” scenes! A detailed handout will be given. See more examples of this class on the Seascapes page.
Price for groups up to 22: $275 flat fee for 3 hours; $350 flat fee for 4 hours.
A supply list is given, or optionally, I can possibly provide everything except scissors for a materials fee of $16 per student.

Fabric Decollage Greeting Cards   (3 to 3-1/2 hour class, for all skill levels)

Learn to make one-of-a-kind greeting cards by fusing fabrics onto blank card stock, and embellishing them with Debbie's rubber stamps, inks and embossing powders, making 4 cards in class. No stitching is required and no experience is needed. These cards can be made for special occasions or as elegant note cards - your choice. They're even nice enough to be framed, for great gift ideas. Bet you can't make just one! Learn lots of tips and tricks in this class. A great way to use small fabric scraps. Handout included. See more examples of this class on the Cards page. (Click here to see photos from a recent Card Class.) Note: An Advanced Card Class is also available as shown on the Advanced Cards Page; please inquire. There is also an Abstract Card Class (no stamping & embossing, not using pre-printed motifs); samples are on Cards Page 3. The class fees are the same for all 3 card classes, but the optional materials fees may be a little different; please inquire.
Price for groups up to 22: $275 flat fee.
A supply list is given, or optionally, I can possibly provide everything except scissors for a materials fee of $16 per student.
Fabric Decollage Jewelry   (3 to 3-1/2 hour class, for all skill levels)

Learn to create jewelry you’ll treasure for a lifetime! Imagine making pins, pendants and earrings using beautiful fabrics, fusible web and other adhesives. With no sewing, it’s easy and fast using Debbie’s quick-fuse techniques. You can make jewelry with new materials or recycle older costume jewelry into new. You’ll make two pins or pendants and two pairs of earrings (or any combination totaling four pieces). You’ll go home with finished jewelry! (This is not a beading class.) Handout included. See more examples of this class on the Jewelry page.
Price for groups up to 22: $275 flat fee.
A supply list is given, or optionally, I can possibly provide everything except scissors for a materials fee of $20 per student.
Stamping on Fabric   (3 to 3-1/2 hour class, for all skill levels)

Bring your own fabrics to class and use Debbie’s rubber stamps, stencils, inks, paints, paint sticks and markers to create unique pieces that will add pizazz to your quilts, wearables or decollage! Learn tricks for getting crisp, clear images that are permanent once heat-set, and enhance your fabrics even more with inks and markers for depth and shading. We’ll even do velvet embossing, and Debbie will provide the velvet! Detailed handout included. Everything provided except the fabric, or for an additional fee, she can provide a fabric kit also. See more examples of this class on the Stamped Fabrics page.
Price for groups up to 22: $275 flat fee.
A supply list is given, or optionally, I can possibly provide everything including 2 yds. of fabric for a materials fee of $26 per student.

Fabric Painting   (6-1/2 to 7 hour class, plus lunch break, for all skill levels)

Join the fun as you learn at least 14 techniques for painting fabric, including some that look like they’re airbrushed! You’ll leave class with approximately 4 yards of hand-painted fat quarter sized pieces, and no two will be alike. These paints are completely colorfast once they’re heat-set. No dye powders to mix either! We’ll experiment with scrunching, sun printing, mottling, sponging, stamping, pleating, tilting and splattering. We’ll twist and twirl, and do shibori too! We’ll even paint skies and water, experiment with masking and more. Detailed handout included. Easy techniques, no prior experience necessary. What a great way to make your quilts, wearables & decollages truly unique. Watch out – fabric painting can be addictive! See more examples of this class on the Painted Fabrics page. Optional: We can skip one or two painting techniques and add ice dyeing one or two pieces of fabric (scrunched method); please inquire for details.
Price for groups up to 22: $525 flat fee.

Lectures:

"Fabric Scraps Become Fine Art"
Stretching the boundaries of what can be done with fabric, Debbie encourages quilters and other fiber artists to see their work as fine art. She will show lots of samples along with slides, explaining how she “accidentally” developed her fusible technique and sharing how it doesn’t take any art training to create beautiful fabric decollage (a cross between decoupage and collage) without the time and planning required in quilting. Of course, stitching or quilting can also enhance these pieces. Not to replace quilting, but adding to it, this is a great way to work with all those leftover fabric scraps. Add a mat and frame, and voilá, it’s fine art! This will open up a whole new world to fabric lovers – you'll never look at fabric the same way again!

"Silk Fusion"

Create your own "fabric" using silk fibers/roving and other threads/fibers with textile medium. This technique results in the most lustrous one-of-a-kind fabric that can be used in quilts, fabric decollage, wearables and all kinds of arts & crafts projects. Silk Fusion can be fused, stitched or quilted, though stitching isn't required. We'll each make our own Silk Fusion in the morning, taking it home to dry later. Then in the afternoon, you'll choose one of Debbie's many pieces of Silk Fusion and choose one of her 3 designs to make your own unique wallhanging. Stitching is not required, but students are encouraged to bring their sewing machines so we can add more texture and design to this beautiful, translucent Silk Fusion. A detailed handout is included.  See more examples of this class on the Silk Fusion pages.

“Fabric Painting – Easy Techniques with Eye-Popping Results!"   (also available as a class; see above description)
Join the fun as Debbie takes you through her specialty fabric painting techniques. See how easy it is to create your own one-of-a-kind fabrics, for quilts that sizzle! She will share her “soft skies” painting technique, along with many others including scrunching, sun printing, mottling, sponging, stamping, pleating, tilting, splattering, twist & twirl, shibori and landscapes. Learn lots of tips and tricks. Fabric painting is fun and anyone can do it! What a great way to make your quilts, wearables and other fabric art truly unique. Warning: fabric painting can become addictive!   (Note: This is not a messy demonstration! Lots of samples will be shown, and a presentation given showing each technique.)
